Design Inspiration
The emblem represents the Hosokawa clan (細川), a prominent samurai family with deep roots in Japan’s medieval and early modern history. The circular crest of dots is one of their recognizable kamon, symbols used by samurai to mark armor, banners, and family heritage. The Hosokawa were not only warriors but also major patrons of culture - one of their most famous leaders, Hosokawa Tadaoki, was closely connected to the development of the Japanese tea ceremony, showing how samurai life combined both martial power and refined artistic traditions.
