Design Inspiration
The crest belongs to the Matsudaira clan (松平), a samurai family closely tied to one of the most important figures in Japanese history. The name Matsudaira is the original family name of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate who unified Japan and ruled for more than two centuries. Their kamon features stylized hollyhock leaves, a symbol later associated with the powerful Tokugawa lineage that shaped the political and cultural landscape of Japan during the Edo period.
