Design Inspiration
Nurarihyon (ぬらりひょん) is a strange and elusive yokai from Japanese folklore, often described as an old man with an unusually elongated head. In many Edo-period tales, he quietly slips into people's homes while they are away, calmly drinking tea and behaving as if he were the master of the house. Because of this peculiar habit, Nurarihyon came to represent a cunning spirit that appears harmless at first, yet hides an unsettling supernatural nature. In later folklore he was sometimes portrayed as a kind of leader among yokai, embodying the mysterious and mischievous side of Japan’s spirit world.
