Design Inspiration
This crest represents the Shimazu clan (島津氏), one of the most powerful samurai families in Japanese history. The Shimazu ruled the Satsuma domain in southern Japan for centuries and were known for their disciplined warriors and strategic brilliance. Their simple cross-in-a-circle crest became instantly recognizable on armor and battle flags. The clan gained legendary status after surviving countless conflicts during the Sengoku period and later playing a major role in Japan’s transition into the modern era.
