Design Inspiration
The turtle has long been associated with longevity in Japanese and East Asian folklore. In traditional stories, turtles are believed to live for centuries, becoming symbols of patience, wisdom, and quiet resilience. The characters above the design read 長寿 (chōju), meaning “long life.” One of the best-known legends tells of Urashima Tarō, a fisherman who rescues a turtle and is taken to a magical palace beneath the sea - a tale that helped cement the turtle as a symbol of good fortune and long life.
